Cholecystectomy (Open & Laparoscopic) Cholecystectomy is the name of the gallstone surgery. It can be performed in two ways: Tradition (Open) surgery or Laparoscopic surgery. This type of gallstone surgery uses a small incision with a laparoscope that has a tiny video camera and surgical tools, the tube, camera, and tools are inserted and the surgeon performs the surgery while looking at TV monitor to remove the gallstones. The treatment is preferred as there is only one incision and the patient will experience less pain. In addition, the recovery time is much faster and the healed incision will practically leave no scar.
